The City of Astoria http://astoria.or.us has designated Clatsop County Historical Society http://cumtux.org as the official organization to plan and organize the Astoria Bicentennial Celebration.

The mission of the Astoria Bicentennial Celebration is to commemorate the founding of Astoria and 200 years of history.

ABC 2011 Goals
* To celebrate the Founding of Astoria, the drama and excitement of the Astor Party, and two hundred years of Astoria History.
* Create awareness, civic pride, and understanding among citizens of all ages of the unique role Astoria has played in history.
* Celebrate the various immigrant groups and cultures that have played a role in Astoria's history over the past two hundred years.
* Create lasting memories and legacy projects.
